Backstory
The previous site was outdated and full of numerous incentives that were hard to find. Government officials also had to educate film producers about Louisiana.
But first, research
Creating value
Early design exploration
Low Fidelity Design
Knowing that we had to focus on incentives, locations, and education, we set out to find a way to intuitively navigate the site by Louisiana'a four main entertainment industries:
Film, Interactive, Live, and Music.
Stakeholders later requested to have a dropdown in the menu just in case users wanted to navigate that way. We objected that it detracted from the minimalist design, but eventually added it in.
Defining Magic
During the design phase I worked with Tim Ricks, the Webflow Wizard himself, and we continued to tackle user needs such as an interactive map that allowed film crews to determine how long it takes to travel between cities. This helped crews find studios and plan production in advance.
Final Touches
With the project coming to a close, we made sure to remember Louisiana citizens who may be interested in news, joining a talent pool, or attending an event, further solidifying the importance of Louisiana's entertainment industry.
